Opinions of some Spanish Orientalists on Border Chants

Abstract
The Thagri folk poetry or "border chants" poetry are considered as an artistic summary and a symbolic value for a complex cultural mixture in Andalusian society. They are poems of unknown author, whose origin is difficult to determine, and their age is difficult to determine. They originated in the borders and Islamic-Christian borders, and were transmitted by popular narrators and itinerant singers. To spread among the people at a rapid pace. This research aims to introduce the Thaghri poems through their study, following the descriptive approach. This research consists of several axes, including: definition and origin, importance, and the Arab presence in border chants. I concluded this research with a conclusion in which I mentioned its most important results, and appended it with a list of the research’s sources and references.
