Abstract

• The Andalusians were interested in all types of sciences, including literature, and they realized that familiarizing themselves with the literary heritage and practicing it are the most important tributaries in building a sound cultural base.


• Andalusian literature began to witness widespread development at the end of the fourth century AH.


• Writing received great attention among Andalusians because it is considered a mirror of the state’s reality and level.


• The Andalusians opened the door to poetry and prose. Most of the Andalusian writers were poets, and they excelled in the arts and types of writing. Andalusian writers enjoyed a high status among kings and ministers.


• The importance of writing in Andalusia was demonstrated by the inclusion of writers among the rulers. Because they are able to write official letters in precise language, and writing has become a bridge for the writer to cross to reach the highest ranks in the state.


• For a writer to reach the highest positions in the state, he must meet conditions that he must overcome, including: religion, piety, and honesty, and that he be a memorizer of the Book of God Almighty and the hadiths of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, as well as the poetry of the Arabs, their news, and their days.


• Writing did not stop with men only, but a number of women became proficient writers, and women also participated in the profession of writing.


• Entire families excelled at writing, and it became widespread among a number of members of the same family and even became inherited between parents and children in the same family.
