Abstract

The Abbasids were able to provide a framework that empowers them to exercise rule on their own, relying on many hadiths of the Prophet, some of which are correct and others are defective, in which the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - had foretold that the caliphate would come to them and remain in their wake until the Day of Resurrection, and for that they attracted many General Muslims.

As for their Alawite cousins, they formulated two theories, the first oral, and the other written, in which their leader Abu Hashem abdicated to Bani Abbas from the caliphate.

The Abbasids also had another matter among themselves, which was the comparison between the Abbasids in assuming the rule of the nation, so they introduced a new legitimacy centered on kinship to the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - and his will to Abdullah al-Saffah and Abu Jaafar al-Mansur to assume the caliphate in a vision That al-Mansur had seen in his sleep.
