Abstract

The rules of hadith science are comprehensive rules of criticism that carefully study all aspects of hadith. It aims to preserve and preserve the Sunnah of the Prophet, which is considered the most important Islamic source after the Book of God Almighty. Muslim scholars have established rules and principles for it that preceded the scholars of the historical method by several centuries, which was and still is the pride of every Muslim.

Anyone who follows the rules in the science of hadith and the science of history will find that they agree in their essence, in their systems, and in their rules, and this indicates to us that historical scholars have actually benefited from Muslim scholars in criticizing their history.

The relationship between the two sciences is a close relationship, as the two sciences depend on oral narrations and on the chain of transmission and the text. Muslims dealt with history as a branch of history, so they controlled historical narrations with the same controls as the prophetic hadiths, and stipulated for their acceptance the conditions for accepting the prophetic hadiths, so historical scholars, even non-Muslims, benefited from them. They followed the same rules as Muslim historians, and thus credit goes to Muslim scholars for bringing the science of history to what it has reached today.
