This research paper deals with the historical stages that the settlement of the ancient city of Sabratha went through since the Phoenician founding. It lasted for five centuries, sometimes with self-rule and its affairs managed from within, then Carthaginian rule under the leadership of Carthage, Numidian rule during the rule of King Misipsa and his sons and his nephew, then Roman rule through the Roman Empire, which The period lasted for four and a half centuries, with its accompanying cultural and economic development, then deterioration and collapse until the Vandals arrived and wreaked corruption and devastation until the Libyan tribes revolted and were able to expel them. Then the Byzantines came to the Libyan country until the stage of final collapse was reached. Archaeological excavations and excavations during the past years, starting in 1913 AD, by Italian, English and Libyan archaeologists, led to the discovery of many important monuments that date back historically to all of these eras, but these are a few of the many that are still waiting for the shovels of the discoverers and the ideas of restorers to restore and rehabilitate these monuments and the pens of researchers. To prepare scientific research that will increase knowledge of Libya’s heritage, especially since the largest part of these ancient cities is still buried under the soil
