Abstract

This research deals with the poetry of Abu Firas Al-Hamdani in order to reach the motives and reasons that moved the poet’s poetry and poured its spirit into his poems. The researcher tried to prove that the higher goals that Adler talked about in his theory are the main engine in moving his poetry and creativity, and from here the research came distributed in the introduction. In two sections, the first section talked about the psychological approach to literary criticism, Adler and his theory, and the signs of defects in the life of Abu Firas Al-Hamdani. The third section included a psychological reading of Abu Firas Al-Hamdani’s poetry according to Adler’s theory. The researcher concluded that what Abu Firas directed in his life influenced the formation of his personality, and that His Excellency’s desire for leadership, leadership, and excellence is what moves him and his creativity
