Information For Authors

Author guidelines

The research must be within the journal's research objectives and in the field of educational and psychological sciences and other fields related to its interests.

The journal accepts research written in either Arabic or English.

The research must be serious, original, and innovative, and must add new knowledge. It must not be plagiarized from any other research or any approved academic dissertation (master's or doctoral).

The researcher must bear responsibility for the opinions and ideas contained in their research and must provide a written declaration that they have not previously published or submitted their research for publication (in part or in full) to any other journal, conference, or other academic activity.

Adherence to the steps of scientific research, including an introduction, a theoretical framework, the research problem, its objectives, questions, importance, scope, limitations, methods used, previous studies, analysis, and discussion of the results, and ending with a conclusion including the most important findings and recommendations.

Research submitted for publication in the journal is subject to scientific peer review by specialized professors with scientific expertise in the research topic.

The journal has diverse selection of specialized peer reviewers, either from the Advisory Board, the Journal's Editorial Board, or from a group of experts known for their accuracy and scientific competence in evaluating research in their field of specialization. Not all of these experts belong to the same academic institution.

The journal informs the researcher of the outcome of the peer review, whether accepted or rejected, without mentioning the names of the peer reviewers and without any obligation to respond to the author's objections. The journal is not obligated to provide reasons for rejecting a manuscript.

The manuscript must be properly written, coherent, and free of spelling and grammatical errors. Quranic verses and poetic verses must be properly spelled.

The journal may publish articles that address a specific scientific aspect or present summaries or chapters of approved dissertations after the researcher has re-prepared them for publication in the journal, provided that the researcher indicates this and provides comprehensive information about the dissertation, the date of its defense, and the institution where the defense took place.

The submitted manuscript must be numbered, with no fewer than (10) pages and no more than (30) pages, including tables, figures, drawings, images, maps, appendices, and references. Additional fees may apply if the manuscript exceeds the permitted page limit.

The research must include two abstracts, one in Arabic and the other in English, each containing no less than (200) words and no more than (250), and no more than (5) keywords.

The research must be submitted electronically using Microsoft Word on Windows. The font should be Simplified Arabic for Arabic and Traditional Arabic for English. Font size should be (16) for the main title, (14-Bold) for subheadings, (14) for the body, and (10) for tables. Line spacing should be (1) on A4 paper. Page margins should be (3) cm in all directions, and each new paragraph should be indented by (1) cm.

The researcher must arrange the documentation numbers sequentially, adopting the accepted scientific principles of the documentation style adopted by the American Psychological Association (APA).

The scientific methodology must be observed in the preparation and complete and proper documentation of sources and references, in accordance with the journal's approved documentation style. References used by the researcher in the text of the research should be referenced in parentheses, highlighting the author's surname or authors, followed by the year of publication and page number. For example: (Abu Al-Ala, Al-Tariqi, 2008, p. 91). A list of Arabic references should be placed after the text, followed by English references, arranged alphabetically according to the author's last name, as follows:

Abu Al-Ala, Raafat Gharib, Al-Tariqi, Zainab Haroun (2008): Fundamentals of Scientific Writing, Tripoli: Publications of the General People's Committee for Culture and Information.

The title of the research, the name of the researcher(s), the institution to which they belong, their telephone number, and their email address should be written in both Arabic and English on a separate page before the research pages. No reference to the identity of the researcher(s) should be included anywhere in the study. This should be followed by the title page, followed by the full pages of the research.

All copyrights for accepted research belong to the journal. They may not be published in any other publication medium, whether printed or electronic, without written permission from the journal's editor-in-chief.

Submissions should be submitted electronically via the Zawiya University Journal of Educational and Psychological Sciences platform or via the journal's email (jef@zu.edu.ly). If this is not possible, an electronic copy on a CD should be submitted to the journal's office located in the Zawiya College of Education building, and the publication form should be completed.

The publication fee for accepted research in the journal is (300) Libyan dinars or its equivalent in US dollars for an individual research paper, with an additional (70) dinars or its equivalent in US dollars for each additional researcher.

The researcher will be given one copy of the printed journal and a copy of their research in PDF format will be sent to them via email.

The researcher will be given a letter of acceptance for publication when it is in its final form, after the required amendments have been made and completed, if any.

Priority in publication is given to accepted research papers according to their date of acceptance in the journal. Their order within the journal's issues is subject to the design process.

The opinions expressed in research papers published in the journal reflect the views of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the journal.

AI Policies for Authors

The policy on generative AI and supporting AI technologies seeks to promote transparency and provide clear guidance to researchers, readers, reviewers, and editors.

  1. AI should only be used in writing processes to improve the quality and linguistic formulation of the text, emphasizing that it does not replace the researcher's core tasks, such as drawing scientific conclusions or making clinical proposals.
  2. Careful supervision and monitoring are essential when using AI technologies, as they may produce inaccurate or incomplete outputs or carry some form of bias.
  3. The researcher remains responsible and accountable for the content of their work, even if they use AI during the writing process.
  4. AI technologies or tools should not be considered as the main author or co-author of works, as authors have human responsibilities that AI cannot fulfil.
  5. Each author must ensure the accuracy and integrity of the work, comply with publishing ethics, and preserve the originality of the content.
  6. Researchers must review the journal's publishing ethics policy before submitting their research to ensure compliance with the required ethical standards.
  7. The use of artificial intelligence or AI-generated tools to create or modify images in submitted manuscripts is prohibited. This includes all processes such as enhancement, blurring, moving, removing, or adding specific elements to the image or figure. However, only minor adjustments such as brightness, contrast, or color balance are permitted, provided that this does not obscure or restrict any information in the original version.
  8. Image verification tools can be used to detect any potential violations or irregularities in submitted manuscripts. Submit original images before modifying them with AI for editorial evaluation purposes.
  9. An exception may be made if AI or AI-assisted tools are part of the research design or methodology, such as the use of an AI-based approach in medical imaging. In such cases, the researcher must provide a detailed description of how AI was used in a way that allows the experiment to be replicated, including clear information about the tools used.
  10. The researcher must adhere to the policies for using artificial intelligence software, taking care to ensure the accuracy of the content ratio. As may be required.
  11. The use of artificial intelligence or related tools in the design of artwork such as researcher covers or graphic biographies is prohibited.
