Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of match load on selected body composition components of football players in the Western Region. The researchers employed a descriptive methodology. The study population consisted of second-division football players from Al-Salam Abu Surra Club during the 2024/2025 sports season, totaling 25 players. A purposive sample was selected from the players who participated in the match, comprising 9 athletes.
For data collection, the researchers conducted measurements that included: name, age, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), body fat mass index, bone mass index, and muscle mass index. The results revealed that match load had an effect on certain components of body composition (weight, body mass, and body fat mass). Conversely, the findings also indicated that match load did not affect other components of body composition (bone mass and muscle mass).
