About the Journal

The University of Zawia – Faculty of Arts Journal (UZFAJ) is a biannual, peer-reviewed, open-access, and indexed scholarly journal published by the University of Zawia, Libya. The journal publishes original, high-quality research in the humanities and social sciences and accepts manuscripts written in Arabic, English, and French.

The journal operates under an ongoing (continuous) publishing model, whereby accepted articles are published online immediately after completing the peer-review, editorial, and production processes. Articles are organized into two issues per volume, corresponding to the periods January–June and July–December, ensuring timely dissemination of research while maintaining a structured issue-based volume system.

Originally established in 2001 under the title Faculty of Arts Journal, UZFAJ initially served as a multidisciplinary platform covering a broad range of humanities disciplines. In 2022, the journal underwent a comprehensive restructuring and was relaunched under its current title with a refined academic scope and an enhanced editorial and publishing framework. This restructuring aligned the journal with contemporary standards of scholarly communication and international best practices in academic publishing.

UZFAJ is currently published under the supervision of the Scientific Research and Consultancy Center at the University of Zawia and operates through an advanced Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. The journal is committed to maintaining rigorous academic and ethical standards through a double-blind peer-review process.

The University of Zawia – Faculty of Arts Journal (UZFAJ) aims to:
