Objectives::Man is a product of his environment, and is well influenced by its surroundings, so we decided to take a look at asceticism in the places where it was talked about a lot, Basra, and time was one of the most important boundaries of our research, and we changed the second century AH, these boundaries were the center of the asceticism movement, due to the emergence of a new state, which is the Abbasid state, and the fall of the Umayyad state, which the Abbasids saw as having grown old, and the reins of power were slipping from its grip, opening the door wide open to internal strife and external ambitions, these matters some researchers see as a reason for the spread and emergence of asceticism in Basra without dispute, so our goal was to stand on the validity of all of that
