Abstract

This study talks about trading in Ajdabiya and Barqa oasis areas in terms of historical background, the most important commercial centers in the coast and the south of Barqa, the most important desert trade caravan routes by which the exported goods were transported, whether local or imported production. The research also addresses the definition of traditional industries and their most important characteristics in Libyan society and the scope ofAjdabiya and the oases of the southern Barqi, and the most important models of those traditional industries. The research concluded by highlighting the role of trade in the recovery of those centers, and how the flow of goods between the north and the south contributed to Creating a kind of stability and prosperity within these oases. The study also concluded by highlighting many traditional industries in the traditional industries in Ajdabiya region and the Barqa oases.  These traditional industries varied between clothing, textiles, leather industries, utensils, pottery supplies, and palm frond industries. These industries faced by competition from foreign products and by the authority’s neglect to support and protect these industries and encourage its owners.
