An Assessment of the Implementation of the Requirements of the International Standard ISO45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems

Abstract

     The study aimed to determine the extent to which the requirements of the international standard ISO 45001: 2018 are applied to the Occupational Health and safety management system by achieving several objectives, namely, determining the level of application of the requirements of Occupational Health and safety policies, identifying risks, and evaluating the extent of application of support requirements at the level of internal and external communication through a field study in the Public Safety Department of the General Electricity Company, Al-Gharbiya Branch.

     The study concluded a set of results, the most important of which is the existence of an average level of the requirements of the international standard ISO 45001:2018, and the fact of partial application and total documentation of the three requirements under study, namely: (requirements for Occupational Health and safety policies, requirements for planning to identify risks, and requirements for support at the level of internal and external communication), the study also indicated that the most.

     Based on this, the study recommended a set of recommendations, the most prominent of which is the need to take advantage of what is being applied to launch towards the effective application of the requirements of this international standard, as well as the need to upgrade the level of Occupational Health and safety policies by expanding knowledge and skills at the leadership level with the requirements of the international standard , and adopting the principle of participation and disclosure of goals and policies related to occupational health and safety inside and outside the company
