Abstract
The aim of this research was to evaluate the practical education program at the Faculty of Education, Abu Issa, Al-Zawiya University, from the students' perspective. The descriptive approach was used, and the research population consisted of all eighth-semester students in various scientific specializations who had actually studied during the spring semester of 2023. The sample was selected at a rate of 100%, with a total of 170 individuals in the sample. A questionnaire was constructed, consisting of 43 final paragraphs, distributed across four axes:
The extent to which student teachers benefited from educational courses in preparing them to be teachers before starting their field practice (12 items).
The extent to which student teachers benefited from the educational supervisor in preparing them to be teachers during field practice (11 items).
The extent to which student teachers benefited from the school principal in preparing them to be teachers during field practice (10 items).
The extent to which student teachers benefited from the primary teacher in preparing them to be teachers during field practice (10 items). The content validity and appropriateness of the tool for its intended objectives were ensured. Content validity was measured using face validity. Reliability was also confirmed, with a reliability coefficient (alpha) of 0.88.
The research yielded several results:
- Through frequencies and the percentage of the total for the items related to the extent to which student teachers benefited from educational courses, it was found that 66.23% of the sample agreed that they had benefited from studying educational courses in preparing them to be teachers, indicating a high percentage of agreement among the sample respondents on this axis.
- Through frequencies and the percentage of the total for the items related to the extent to which student teachers benefited from the educational supervisor, it was found that 67.70% of the sample agreed that they had benefited from the guidance of the educational supervisor in preparing them to be teachers, indicating a high percentage of agreement among the sample respondents on this axis.
