Abstract

The importance of the research topic. Studying the phenomenon of work pressures facing school principals in general and secondary education in particular while performing their work has not yet received the necessary attention at the local level. Therefore, this study highlights the importance of this issue in the minds of those concerned with education in Libya in terms of theory and practice.


Research problem . The research problem revolves around studying and analyzing the problem of the impact of work pressures that secondary school principals in the city of Zawiya are exposed to on their administrative performance.


research aims . This research aims to identify the degree to which secondary school principals in the city of Zawiya feel the work pressures they face during their administrative performance, the types of these pressures, and their effects on these principals in relation to their administrative performance.


search limits . This research included (42) secondary school principals in the city of Al-Zawiya, between public and private. The research took place in the academic year 2022/2023 AD.


Research Methodology . This research adopted the descriptive approach, and the main tool in collecting its data was (the questionnaire).


Search verses. The literature included major topics related to administrative processes in school administration, work pressures in school administration, and their effects on the work of the school principal.


research results . Many appropriate statistical methods were used based on the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), version 26. The analysis of the research data included quantitative statistical analysis and interpretive qualitative analysis of the dimensions of the results obtained. The most important results indicate:


1- Secondary school principals in the city of Zawiya carry out the job of managing their schools even though they feel that there are various work pressures facing them inside and outside the school, which directly affect their work.


2- These managers cannot do anything about the source of these pressures, as they practice some or all of the methods of ignoring these feelings, which are ignoring, denying their existence, coming to terms with them, or surrendering to them.


3-The most important types of work pressures facing principals are those related to the Ministry of Education’s lack of sufficient attention to teachers’ affairs.
