Abstract

Electric transient stability has been classified as one of the most occured problems that the electric power systems affected by. To get a secure electric power system, it is important to study all aspects about system stability. Power system stability has been used to measure the oscillation and interupption in the electric power system at different scenarios, which may be caused by any type of faults. In this paper, 5-bus electric power system has been simulated using ETAP. The waveform of currents, voltages and the frequencies of each element of the power system have been performed. When a three phase fault were occured at any point of the electric power system, there were oscillation caused by the applied fault, and the power system become unstable. Once the fault is cleared within the identified time, the power system almost likely become stable, or else the system keeps operating unstabely.
