Libyan Identity in the Context of Reality Culture and Future Challenges (An Analytical Study)

Abstract


  • The study aimed to identify the crisis of Libyan culture and its negative repercussions on its educational system in shaping the structure of Libyan identity, as well as the means to address these issues. The researcher employed the descriptive-analytical method by examining the current reality and analyzing theoretical literature. A future vision was developed for the educational value system and its application strategies to achieve the effectiveness of Libyan identity and enhance its capability in various fields, contributing to societal development in Libya. The study results indicated the following:



  1. The importance of societal culture in shaping the psychological, social, and ethical structure of individuals’ identity.

  2. Libyan culture suffers from a clear crisis manifested in the following aspects:

    • Moral value crisis, leading to a morally empty identity with distorted values and counterfeit effectiveness.

    • Social and communicative crisis, creating an individualistic, selfish, opportunistic, autocratic, and intolerant identity.

    • Educational crisis, resulting in a marginalized, superficial, stereotypical identity with wasted intellect and potential.



  3. The means to address the Libyan cultural and educational crises include:

    • Respecting human dignity and recognizing its value and capabilities to achieve psychological and societal effectiveness.

    • Acknowledging individuality and uniqueness in psychological identity to foster a knowledgeably superior and morally elevated self.

    • Promoting authentic moral values in balance with modern values to create a psychologically and socially adaptive identity.

    • Developing the psychological structure of Libyan identity, including confidence in excellence, performance enthusiasm, and adaptability.





  • Proposing a future vision for an educational value system to build an effective Libyan identity contributing to Libya’s development.
