Abstract

This study aims to clarify the significance of demographic changes and their relationship to economic variables, as well as how such changes can be monitored and guided through the formulation of development policies designed to contain their impacts. It emphasizes the need to design short-, medium-, and long-term development programs characterized by continuity in order to track population growth trends, given their direct and indirect effects over future periods.

The study seeks to analyze the demographic situation and the developments in growth rates, examining the impact of increases or decreases in population size. Through such analysis, it becomes possible to identify their effects and address their causes by assessing both strengths and weaknesses. The relationship between population and resources within a political unit is considered a crucial strategic choice due to its influence on the strength or weakness of the state.

This relationship also serves as an indicator of the success or failure of development policies in meeting population needs in proportion to available economic resources.  , and diversification of income sources across agricultural,  gross domestic product (GDP) growth rates, while supporting and integrating the private sector in economic activity to enhance productivity and promote diversification within the Libyan economy.
