Abstract

This study aimed to examine the level of families' awareness of Islamic identity values derived from the Holy Qur’an, and the extent of their awareness regarding globalization challenges that face the cohesion of the Muslim family. Additionally, it sought to identify the most significant values and the most critical challenges, employing a descriptive-analytical approach. The study population comprised mothers in the city of Zawiya, and a questionnaire developed based on educational literature and previous studies was administered to a random sample of (35) mothers. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results revealed statistically significant perception and awareness among the surveyed families regarding the importance of Islamic identity values derived from the Holy Qur’an and the risks posed by globalization. Furthermore, the findings indicated that the value of "Servitude to Allah Almighty Alone" received the highest level of attention as the foundation of faith-based values. Meanwhile, the threat of "spreading Western role models through social media platforms and videos that contradict Islamic values" emerged as the most severe globalization challenge threatening family cohesion and identity. The study recommended the necessity of adhering to the Qur’an and Sunnah, reinforcing moral values among children to protect them from Westernization, and directing their leisure time toward beneficial activities. It also called for raising awareness of globalization risks through media outlets and religious pulpits.
