Repository and Self-Archiving Policy
The University of Zawia Journal of Engineering Sciences and Technology (UZJEST) supports open access, the dissemination of scientific knowledge, and the long-term preservation of scholarly research in engineering, technology, and related disciplines.
Open Access: Authors may deposit their manuscripts in repositories of their choice.
Copyright: Authors retain copyright to their published work, subject to the journal's Copyright and Licensing Policy.
No Embargo: No embargo period applies to self-archiving.
UZJEST permits and encourages authors to deposit and make publicly available the submitted, accepted, and published versions of their manuscripts in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, preprint servers, or other appropriate repositories.
- Submitted Version (Preprint)
Authors are permitted to deposit the original submitted version of their manuscript, before peer review, in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, recognized preprint servers, or personal academic websites.
Deposit permitted: Yes
Embargo period: None
Conditions: Authors should clearly identify the manuscript as a preprint that has not undergone peer review. If the manuscript is subsequently published in UZJEST, authors are encouraged to update the repository record with the complete citation and a link to the final published article, preferably using its Digital Object Identifier (DOI), where available.
- Accepted Version (Author Accepted Manuscript)
Authors are permitted to deposit the final accepted manuscript following peer review and editorial acceptance but before the journal's final copyediting, typesetting, and publication.
Deposit permitted: Yes
Embargo period: None
Conditions: Authors may deposit the accepted manuscript immediately upon acceptance. Once the article is published, the repository record should be updated with the complete bibliographic citation and a link to the published Version of Record, preferably using its DOI, where available.
- Published Version (Version of Record)
Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the final published version of their articles, including the publisher-formatted PDF, in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, and other appropriate repositories.
Deposit permitted: Yes
Embargo period: None
Conditions: The published version must retain the original citation, copyright information, applicable license statement, and DOI, where available. The source of publication in the University of Zawia Journal of Engineering Sciences and Technology (UZJEST) must be properly acknowledged.
Published articles may be shared and reused in accordance with the journal's applicable copyright and licensing terms.
- Repository Selection
Authors may choose any appropriate repository for depositing their work, including:
- Institutional repositories operated by universities or research institutions.
- Subject-specific or disciplinary repositories relevant to engineering and technology.
- Recognized preprint servers.
- National or international open-access repositories.
- Personal academic websites and professional research profiles, where appropriate.
There are no geographical restrictions on repository selection. Authors should ensure that the selected repository supports appropriate attribution and preserves the bibliographic information associated with the deposited work.
- Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright to their articles published in UZJEST, subject to the terms stated in the journal's Copyright and Licensing Policy.
Self-archiving is permitted without requesting additional permission from the journal, provided that the original publication is appropriately acknowledged and the applicable copyright and licensing conditions are respected.
When depositing an article, authors should include the full citation, a link to the published version, and the DOI where available. Any third-party material included in the article remains subject to its respective copyright and permission requirements.
- Embargo Policy
UZJEST does not impose an embargo period on the self-archiving of submitted, accepted, or published manuscript versions.
Authors may make their work publicly accessible through their chosen repositories in accordance with the conditions outlined in this policy and the journal's applicable copyright and licensing terms.
