Abstract

This paper investigates the physics of four intersecting high-current plasma beams through analytical modelling and numerical simulations. The study aims to develop analytical models of the intersecting beams based on magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) theory and implement these models in MATLAB-based computer code. Numerical simulations have been performed to examine the radial profiles of plasma parameters in symmetrical high-current plasma beams with a z-pinch configuration. Additional simulations have been conducted to evaluate the stability of the beams as they converge at a common intersection point, referred to as the focal region. The results of this study provided a basis for the design of an experimental setup for a new fusion concept proposed by HOPE Innovations Inc.
