The study aims to identify the role of the family in developing reading in children, and the methods that help the family in developing reading in children. The question of the study is: What is the role of the family in developing reading in children? The study reached the following results:

• The family is the basis for a child’s learning to read.
• Family educational methods help in achieving readiness for reading and developing it in the child.
