Over time, Libyan cities have been exposed to many attacks on their components of all kinds and forms, whether by citizens or public bodies, under the name of urban renaissance, and development processes have led to the loss of their inherited architectural and urban identity, and it has been replaced by architectural chaos, and the study area is within it, where the features of many elements of the environment have been changed. Its architecture was constructed and buildings with a contemporary character were built based on foreign foundations and specifications that led to the obliteration of the local identity related to inherited architectural art. Indeed, in some of its areas, many old buildings were removed and replaced by modern buildings that did not suit their local environmental and cultural conditions. The study aimed to Determining the reality of the architectural identity of the city of Zuwara between ancient and contemporary and whether contemporary architecture has a clear identity or not, as well as explaining the reality of architectural art inherited from the Amazigh and Arab roots influenced by it from its Arab neighbors and the extent to which it has imposed itself amid the momentum of civilization and technology, and is there a connection between it and The past is an explanation of its architectural styles and the factors influencing its formation, as well as an attempt to know what the city’s architectural identity will be like in the future, according to the studied reality, in order to reach solutions, hoping that they will serve its architectural reality and create an environment that bears among its furniture the features of antiquity and interconnectedness linked to modernity and contemporaneity.
