Abstract

The present study aimed to examine the impact of children’s stories on addressing psychological problems among children through a theoretical and analytical approach to the concept of storytelling, its educational and psychological significance, and the mechanisms through which it influences behavior and emotions. The findings revealed that storytelling is an effective tool in reducing levels of anxiety, shyness, and aggression, and in helping children express their emotions in a safe and indirect manner.

The study also found that the use of stories in the psychological field for children is one of the most effective and developmentally appropriate methods, particularly in communities that lack specialized psychological support within schools and kindergartens. Furthermore, storytelling serves as a bridge between the child’s inner world and the adults around them, contributing to the development of a secure, trust-based relationship that allows for indirect psychological intervention.
