This study explores the implicit spaces and textual gaps in poetic discourse as structural elements that contribute to meaning production and expand the horizons of interpretation. It draws on reader-response theory, which assigns the reader an active role in the construction of meaning. In this perspective, the reader becomes a co-creator of the text, filling the gaps generated by the condensed and highly suggestive language of poetry.
The study also examines the role of interpretation in establishing the meanings of the poetic text and revealing its visual and internal relationships that shape its artistic structure. The poet’s stylistic choices are considered fundamental in forming the network of words, sentences, and poetic visions, which makes the poetic text a mosaic-like structure open to multiple readings and interpretations.
Furthermore, the research highlights the concept of textual gaps as indicators of hidden or suppressed meanings that invite the reader to search for and reconstruct them through interpretive reading. It also addresses the dialectic of silence and writing, emphasizing their complementary role in the creation of poetic discourse, where meaning emerges from the interplay between linguistic presence and semantic absence.
