The Role of Strategic Planning in Total Quality Management on the Performance of University Staff

Abstract
This research addresses the issue of the relationship between strategic planning and total quality management, and the impact of this relationship on employee performance in higher education institutions. The importance of the topic stems from its focus on one of the vital aspects that directly affect the efficiency of educational institutions and their ability to achieve their goalsThe research touched on a set of fundamental concepts such as quality management and strategic planning, in addition to reviewing the applications of quality in higher education and explaining the justifications that make adopting total quality management an urgent necessity. The researcher also reviewed a number of previous studies on the subject, whether at the local, Arab, or international level, to provide a comprehensive overview of the topic. Through analysis, the research reached a series of conclusions, the most prominent of which is that strategic planning plays an effective role in supporting total quality management and positively reflects on employee satisfaction and their efficiency within higher education institutions. It also became clear that the degree of this impact varies depending on the nature of the institution and the extent to which it adopts long-term strategic thinking.
