This study seeks to re-examine the fundamental concepts associated with Arabic language teaching curricula, particularly those related to learning outcomes, with the aim of refining the terminological framework within the field of educational linguistics and language acquisition. The study is grounded in the observation of terminological inconsistency resulting from the multiplicity and overlap of concepts such as acquisition, learning, teaching, curriculum, skills, and competencies. This issue largely stems from the partial reliance on translating Western theories without adequately adapting them to the Arab context.
The research problem centers on the extent to which the absence of conceptual precision contributes to confusion in theoretical perspectives and educational practices, and how a coherent terminological system can be constructed to clearly define the meanings and functions of these concepts.
The study aims to deconstruct and analyze these terms, identify areas of overlap and distinction, and propose a more consistent conceptual framework that contributes to improving curriculum design and achieving learning outcomes. Its significance lies in addressing terminological deficiencies that affect educational planning, curriculum development, and evaluation, while enhancing scientific rigor and linking theory to practice.
Methodologically, the study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, employing conceptual analysis to examine linguistic and educational discourse.
