This research addresses the topic of academic integrity as a fundamental ethical and scientific value within educational institutions. It represents the framework that guides the behavior of students, researchers, and faculty members toward commitment to scientific honesty, truthfulness, objectivity, fairness, and respect for intellectual property rights. The importance of academic integrity lies in the fact that it is not limited to preventing cheating or plagiarism, but extends to building an educational environment based on trust, responsibility, and respect for the scientific efforts of others, thereby enhancing the quality of education and the credibility of scientific research. The research aimed to identify the concept of academic integrity, clarify its importance in developing university performance, and determine its main dimensions, such as honesty, trustworthiness, fairness, responsibility, and respect. It also sought to present the most prominent theories explaining academic integrity and their role in guiding honest academic behavior within the contemporary university environment.
The research adopted the descriptive analytical method by reviewing relevant literature and previous studies and analyzing their concepts, trends, and findings. The research concluded that commitment to academic integrity contributes to increasing confidence in the outputs of education and research, while weakness in academic integrity leads to the spread of negative practices such as cheating, scientific plagiarism, poor documentation, and weak scientific responsibility. The research also emphasized that promoting integrity requires cooperation among university administration, faculty members, and students. It recommended spreading a culture of integrity within universities, .
